About
A bit about Boat Magazine
Boat Magazine was born out of our passion for storytelling, our obsession with traveling to new places, and our habit of buying way too many good-looking magazines. Published by Boat Studio, a creative studio based in King’s Cross specialising in branding and content creation, our hope is that our magazine acts as a great big ‘refresh’ button. Each issue focuses on a different complicated city and our goal is to help people create or update their ideas and images of that place.
Sarajevo is a young, vibrant, creative city – not just a war-torn one.
Detroit is hard-working, resilient, and inspiring – not just down-and-out.
There’s a lot more to London than red double-decker buses, Big Ben, and old phone booths.
Boat Magazine is biannual and for each issue we move to a new city and work with local talent – writers, photographers, artists, and musicians – to get a snapshot of life in that place. We go to cities that have big stories to tell and our team works day and night to find them, capture them, and get them into the pages of Boat Magazine.
