With the world not ending and all, we have put together our favourite ten posts of 2012.


At Boat our goal is to ‘travel to the heart of a city’. With over 200,000 cities in the whole world, this can often be a tall order for a small independently-run studio to fill. Almost impossible, in fact, if it weren’t for the outstanding work and commitment of our contributors who share our gigantously optimistic goal. On that note, Boat would like to say thank you; to both the cities that make the stories, and to those writers, photographers and artists who help tell them so well. From eagle hunters in Mongolia to mermaids in New York and all the farmers, ribmen and nuns in-between, we have picked our top ten favourite posts of the year. Take that, Apocalypse.
