For the third issue of boat magazine our attention turns to London. We’ve thought long and hard about this because the mission of the magazine is to go to complicated cities with big stories to tell, and that probably, rightly, triggers places like Sarajevo, Detroit, Mexico City or Damascus, but we’ve become increasingly frustrated with coverage of home. Somewhere between the Riots, Protests, Economic doom and gloom and the Olympics, the true face of London has been buried a little. It’s hard to ignore the fact that London has real issues just like Sarajevo and Detroit, so while we’re not packing up our studio and moving somewhere new, this issue will be every bit as eye-opening, and every bit as challenging, as we tell the stories that don’t make the headlines.

Issue Three begins in earnest this week. Any London-based writers, photographers, illustrators, film-makers, can drop us a line at erin@allaboardtheboat.com.

The compilation of Evening Standard headlines in the image above comes from a fascinating project here.
